About this harmonica course

Play along harmonica lessons for new blues players – this entry level package offers an introduction to playing the blues on diatonic harmonica in the key of C. Ben explains more in our video:

We teach you the basic easy blues shuffle rhythm with several chugging tracks – these are the backbone to playing blues with rhythm, and rhythm is what music is all about!

Next, you’ll learn the classic Chicago ‘Mannish Boy’ style riff and improvise around it – with a recorded live audience cheering you on! Then, you’ll learn about the 12-bar blues pattern and how to play it. Again, some tracks have been recorded ‘live’ with a ready-made crowd of fans applauding your efforts. We then teach you some single note pieces to play in blues style – the sort of thing a bass player would use – and finally some handy horn lines to use when you’re not soloing.

Extras include a ‘call and response’ track where you will listen and try to copy the soloist as you go along, and also some tuition from Paul in different types of simple scales to help you sound great when you improvise.

All our harmonica lessons can be downloaded as audio and PDF packs, stand alone PDFs, or ordered as CD and book.

Use the players below to preview individual tracks and watch Ben demonstrate some extracts from the course.

i too think this is great ive had a cheap harmonica ive been pliayng with for almost a year now, but havent really found the right instruction. now, i hang with alot of musicians and i know that music is best played when from the heart and no one can teach that, but when i have the right support it makes it all that much easier to get into. i find your lessons wonderfull because it dosnt feel like to much, yet. in the end, after this whole year i am only now more confident in where this should go and thats because of you ;)ps its hard to play harmonica while your cracking up lol i thought the first few videos were really funny.

As a regular at blues jams in Brisbane and the Gold Coast, Pedro was able to discover the bandmates that would eventually complete BB Factory. At only 17 he was accepted into the Christchurch polytechnic institute of jazz studies, where he studied for 2 years and also began to gig regularly in the local music scene.
